FINGER MILLET OR RAGI MALT OR RAGI JAVA HEATH ORIENTED RECIPE from Pakashalaindiankitchen

Finger Millet/Ragi has been a rave in India among the others mainly for 2 reasons, firstly the affordable Price and secondly high nutritional values that include calcium and vitamins B1 to B3. The nutrients in these millets are easily absorbent making them superior from their counterparts.

Sweet Ragi Java

Ingradients 

Serves : 1 person 

4 tbsps (¼ cup) Ragi flour
1 ½ tbsp. sugar or any other sweetener or jaggery
1 cup Water
Milk as needed
Few drops of ghee (optional, if making for babies do use, it helps to swallow the porridge easily)
Pinch of cardamom powder (optional)


Ingredients for salted version


4 tbsps (¼ cup) Ragi flour
Salt to taste
1 cup Water
Buttermilk as needed
Edible Oil or ghee for seasoning
Cumin
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves few chopped finely
Green chili if desired

How to make ragi malt or ragi java with sweet

1.   Mix Cold water and flour thoroughly. Remove lumps if any.
2.   Begin to cook this on a low to medium flame, stirring constantly to prevent burning and lumps.

3.Add Sugar/Jaggery or sweetener at this moment

4)Add dry fruits (optional)

5)Keep Stirring for 6-8 Minutes

6)The liquid gets thickened,now add Milk and serve

Very good for people with Diabetic Profile and healthy beverage for youngsters and aged
